New Work Hours for Remaining Employees

Alternative Work Schedule Update 2/17/10

AWS begins on 2/22/10

1^st Shift 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday

1^st Break 9:00-9:13 a.m.  Lunch 11:00-11:24 a.m.  2^nd Break 1:00-1:13 p.m.

2^nd Shift 3:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Monday-Thursday

1^st Break 5:00-5:13 p.m.  Lunch 7:30-7:54 p.m.  2^nd Break 10:00-10:13 p.m.

1)   Employees will be paid STRAIGHT TIME for the first forty compensated hours in the week, TIME AND ONE HALF for time compensated in excess of forty hours, and DOUBLE TIME Sundays for time compensated in excess of forty hours.

2)   2^nd shift employees will receive a 5% shift premium.

3)   Employees may use VP/VR hours in accordance with the provisions of the GM/UAW National Agreement.  Employees will be credited as having used such allowances at the same rate as the amount of scheduled working hours that they do not work.  i.e. VP/VR’s are to be used in 10 hour increments if you are requesting a full days VP/VR.

4)   Bereavement hour entitlement remains the same.  i.e. Parent:  40 hours allowed, four 10 hour days.  i.e. Brother:  24 hours allowed.  Employees may elect to take two 10 hour days and one 4 hour day and may work the remaining 6 hours of the day.

5)    For the upcoming Good Friday and Memorial Day holidays Management’s intent is to work 3 days those weeks.  (2 days of 10.7 hours and 1 day of 10.6 hours totaling 32 hours)  i.e. for the week of Good Friday (April 2^nd):  Monday 6:00 a.m.-4:42 p.m.(10.7)  Tuesday 6:00 a.m.- 4:42 p.m.(10.7)  Wednesday 6:00 a.m.- 4:36 p.m.(10.6) and you would be off Thursday in addition to the regularly scheduled Good Friday holiday.
Specific information will be posted in regards to start and stop times of 1^st and 2^nd shift as we get closer to the upcoming holidays.
